Born and raised in Dallas, William Jones always knew he wanted to live and work as an attorney in the area. He attended Furman University in South Carolina where he studied Political Science and Philosophy. After graduation, William returned to Dallas to attend SMU’s Dedman School of Law.
From early on, William had a passion for trial work. He wanted to spend as much time as possible in a courtroom in front of juries. This passion was further solidified during law school. William knew the best way to accomplish his goal was to become a State Prosecutor.
William became a prosecutor in September of 2005 and was immediately placed on a trial team. It didn’t take long for him to realize he had made the right choice for his career. As a prosecutor, William was in trial almost weekly, trying cases ranging from drug offenses to murder.
After a short time, William was promoted and placed in charge of new prosecutors. Part of his duties as a chief included training these new prosecutors on how to prepare and present a case, as well as training police officers on what types of evidence to collect in an investigation and how to testify in court.
As a prosecutor, William handled nearly every type of case including:
As a prosecutor, William was also involved in numerous events and training seminars. He has attended and participated in trial skills courses, homicide symposiums and white-collar prosecution training.
During his six and a half years as a prosecutor, William handled thousands of cases and was involved in over 250 trials. After handling this amount and breadth of cases, William felt it was time to leave the District Attorney’s Office and start a new chapter in his life.
After leaving the office, William partnered with one of his former co-workers, Fredrick Hull, and formed Jones & Hull, P.C. William and Fredrick decided to join forces because they believed their extensive experience and long time association with the District Attorney’s Office allowed them a unique perspective with which to help their clients. Having handled virtually every type of case imaginable, Fredrick and William know what to look for in an investigation. Their insight into how prosecutors will most likely present their cases allows them to secure the best possible results for clients.
